Friends, I’m doing it! I moved to my new place yesterday!
I’m leaving my marriage, which, as some of you know, has been a source of great anguish and misery. It’s for the best, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
While I mourn my relationship, I am excited to live the dream as a single cat lady.
As I start over in a new place, I’d like to ask for your help with some items. I am bracing myself for unexpected costs connected with the move and the divorce, so I’m trying not to use up my emergency fund for this. (Fun fact: did you know that it costs $435 to file for divorce in California?! They should put that on the marriage license, next to where you sign off that you’re of sound mind and not committing polygamy by entering the marriage. That’s just the filing fee.)
Funnily enough I never had a wedding registry. Having lived by myself/with roommates for years before, I had most of the stuff I needed. In fact, it hadn’t even occurred to me back then. This time I’ve left some of those items behind, so here I go.
I made an Amazon list for the sake of convenience. Please don’t feel tied to the vendor or those specific items, with the exception of cat diapers, I’m not married to any of them in particular ;). If you’d like to buy something else and/or from somewhere else, message me for the address.
