
Originally from the Czech Republic, Em moved to California looking for fame and fortune. Having discovered Mexican food, they vowed to stay. A decade later they moved to New York yearning for seasons and self-actualization.
Em is a freelancer with a wide range of experience in film and event production. They have worked in the technology, production, and operations departments at film festivals such as Slamdance, AFI Fest, TCM Classic Film Festival, and Mammoth Lakes Film Festival. Em has also worked on film, TV shows, and commercials with clients including American Airlines, BuzzFeed, Purina, SimpliSafe, and many more.
Creatively, Em explores the struggle of an individual in a society, freedom and personal agency, and individual identity through both fiction and non-fiction projects in film and writing.
Em runs Person Who, a YouTube channel in which they explore the many intricacies of being a nonbinary person with a heavily gendered first language, Czech.
Em’s life goals including drinking whiskey older than they are and finally beating their cat, Marla, in a staring contest.
