Happy Days, Not #happydays

Today is day 43 since I took up the 100 Happy Days Challenge by pledging to post a photo of something that makes me happy for 100 days in a row.  The goal was to become happier by acknowledging and exposing the happiness that exists in my life, and to hopefully inspire happiness by positive example (and cute cat pictures).

However, the last photo I posted was #38 and I will not post any more.

While this exercise made me take a conscious note of the things that make me happy, these were not always things that could be photographed, or I missed my chance at photographing them.  Some days it was a joke a professor made about the subject matter of his own lecture.  Some days it was a particularly funny comment by my friend, or a really funny situation that needed a lot of context to make other people happy (you know, of the tl;dr, or more like too-long-to-write variety).

I found I was putting too much focus on having a picture to post every day instead of just enjoying happiness as it came to me. And that wasn’t making me happy, so I’m done.  Call me a quitter if that makes you happy (see what I did there?).
