My last blog post was more than two months ago and it was shameless promotion of my thesis film’s fundraiser. That right there is the main reason I hadn’t blogged since, but there are others. Now that I’ve mostly recovered from the shoot, I’m back to this blog with an apology for the gap and great hopes for the future (of this blog, mostly). If you’ve been reading this blog and my previous ones for a while, perhaps you see a pattern where I blog steadily for a bit and then fall off the face off blogosphere. I can’t say much to that, except: it happens, I’m not happy about it, but I’m here now and hopefully I stay for a bit.
Here’s a list of the things that have been keeping me busy lately, I will talk about some of them in more detail soon.
1) Thesis film. It’s an ambitious project, but we’ve wrapped on shooting and are well into post-production! We screen at our school on May 2 and then head out to festivals and I couldn’t be more excited!
2) Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Savannah, GA. At the end of February, I travelled to Georgia and read a short story I wrote at the annual Convention of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society that I’m a member of. It was a great experience and I had a blast!
3) Academics, Track & Field, Radio, life. My day-to-day, the regular life. It’s pretty time consuming on its own. It’s all the midterms, papers, and class projects. It’s workouts and meets and rehab. It’s meetings and playlists and shows. It’s laundry and oil changes and grocery shopping. But also seeing movies, spending time with friends, and playing with Marla. Wouldn’t have it any other way!
Today, I decided to take up the 100 HAPPY DAYS CHALLENGE. It’s not a challenge to be 100% happy 100 days in a row, but instead to find one thing that makes me happy every day and post a picture of it.
I think it’s a great way to appreciate the things that make me happy, and hopefully to inspire others to appreciate theirs too. Also, it’s a great excuse to post a bunch of cat pictures. Seriously though, while Marla makes me very happy, I’d feel like I’m cheating if I only posted pictures of her, so I’m gonna restrict myself to 25% of cat pictures in the challenge. On extra happy days I might post a cat pic in addition to the other thing :). I’ll be posting on Facebook and Twitter. If you don’t have either, don’t worry–my Twitter feed is right on this blog!
Join the happiness here if you feel so inclined.
